Security Training Services

BAY RIDGE SECURITY is approved by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) as a security guard training school and is authorized to offer basic and continuing education courses required by law of all N.Y. State registered security guards.

Classes can be scheduled for groups of as few as (5) students per session either at our offices or at your location . Daytime, evening and weekend hours are all available. (Off-premises training facilities are subject to prior State approval)

The following courses of instruction are currently offered:

8-hour Pre-Assignment Training

This introductory course is a pre-requisite to state registration as a security guard. The subjects covered include: Functions of a Security Guard, Laws of Arrest, Public Relations, Professional Ethics, and more. A written final examination is required by law.

16-hour "On the Job" Training

A continuation and expansion of the "Pre-Assignment" course. This module must be completed by security guards within 90 days of employment.

8-hour Annual In-Service Training

This refresher course must be taken every year by state registered guards and completion is required for the renewal of guard registrations.

NEW! In addition to the above state approved courses, we now offer group training in unarmed self-defense. This training should be on the "must have" list of every security officer!
